Violating the law

Mon Jul 28, 2008 at 04:24:00 PM PDT

I read on net in two places, Kos was one of them, that they were purging voters from the voter registration list in Nevada, I went on the net and checked, and my name was not there. So I started calling about being purged, after a lot of talking here is what they told me. I am still on the register to vote list I was just inactive so they didn’t send me any election material and early voting started to day.
However the Nevada law states that if you voted in the last Primary election you would remain registered, after I told them the law and asked when it was changed, they said I was just a inactive voter and said it would be corrected. I still think it is a Republican scam keep to Democrats from voting.
Nevada democrats need to start checking remember, Republicans are all liars and crooks

Hillary - a continuation of Bill and Bush?

Thu Nov 29, 2007 at 06:13:32 AM PDT

A lot of folks seem to think that a Hillary presidency would be a continuation of the Bill Clinton presidency, a notion that Hillary has encouraged. While there are a number of good things that Bill Clinton did, there are some other things that need to never happen again - especially his policies of regime change and military intervention (remember Operation Desert Fox?) in Iraq, which Dubya continued.

Further, Bill Clinton (with the agreement of the craven Democratic leadership in Congress) swept the crimes of the Bush administration under the rug. They did this in order to "get along" with Republicans in Congress. Clinton's decision to let Bush the elder off the hook has had disasterous consequences; Hillary has given no indication that she will not do the very same thing and the Democratic "leadership" in Congress appears to be following that very path now.

Clean That Up!

Sun Jul 08, 2007 at 08:15:07 AM PDT

I came across an odd little story, recently. It seems that in 1992, Pennsylvania judge Charles Guyer was removed from the bench after he offered to cut the sentences of several convicted male felons if they would let him wash their hair. That’s all I have found on the story, but I know that judges are supposed to be interested in cleaning up their communities, but I think this guy may be starting in the wrong place. Or consider the expensive clean up facing Network Rail, which runs commuter trains in Southern England. They were so angry they filed a lawsuit against an 82 year old pensioner, Ms. Heidi Beerensson, demanding over $300,000. It seems the poor old girl drove her Ford onto the tracks right in front of a 90mph London bound train. The engineer slammed on his brakes but still sent Ms. Beeresnsson’s car spinning. She was the only one injured in the crash and was treated at the hospital for whiplash but Network Rail demanded reimbursement for repairs to the train, delays for two other trains, $1,200 for an inspection of the line and $5.00 for a copy of the old dingbat’s driving record.

Keith Olbermann is my hero

Wed Jul 04, 2007 at 08:15:53 AM PDT

This was not always the case. He's been good. he's been funny, he's been insightful, he's nailed people who deserved it.

But finally -- finally! -- someone has stood up and said what America desperately needs to hear about this corrupt, criminal, out-of-control, lawless, lunatic administration: Keith Olbermann.

Amicus Curiae?

Fri Jun 08, 2007 at 10:03:39 AM PDT

I have watched Daily Kos for over 2 years and have made it the place I come to over coffee every day. I have watched with interest as one after another of Bush's crooks go before congress and lie or better yet try to say that their wrong doing is just an oversight and not really breaking the law and nothing seems to happen. As long as they don't actually lie, imagine that....

Politics, Policy, Hate and the systemic distruction of our government and culture

Sat Apr 14, 2007 at 10:31:58 PM PDT

Over the last few years, since Bush has been in office, the public discourse in this country has gone south.  Why is it that they are allowed to spew their vile onto our airways by being invited over and over to do talk shows.  They all say the same thing and it is sickening.  I believe this culture of vile discourse teemed with the lack of checks and balances they have created has given people in our society, who are full of hate and rancor, a voice. Bush is the leader, like it or not, but he is not worthy of leading because he is not made of leadership material.  He is shallow, arrogant, hypocritical, full of hubris, incompetent and inept.  People who like government do not work to tear it down. Bush's administration led by his ineptitude is doing just that.   This administration, I believe, does not like government. He does not know what he is doing. It is time for grown ups to regain power.

We've known for years that the Iraqi police we've been training can't be trusted.  The force is infiltrated by militia members who have formed death squads, and in some instances, Iraqi police have aided in attacks on U.S. troops.

This just in!!!

The not take responsibility for anyting GOP are so desperate, they have laid the Hawaiian earthquake straight on Bill Clintons shoulders.

Sean Hannity (nasal voice):  "If Clinton had just not had his pants down during the whole Lewinski deal, he could have had a plan to relieve the continental plates underneath the earth to save the Hawaiians from disaster."

Rush Limbaugh:  "There you have it folks, this is proof I am God and Bill Clinton is the anitchrist, he created such

Watched Bill Moyers documentary on Delay, Abramoff et al.  A most excellent television experience.  Living in Austin I had a front seat for the Delay/TRMPAC denouement; that was a great ride too, watching them take body blows from the judiciary week after week.

Anyway, there was a moment in the piece, about halfway through, where Abramoff is introducing Delay--the image and sound-bites couldn't ever be so artfully choreographed or scripted and it all takes less then a minute or so, easy to edit for a 30 second or less spot.

But here's the money shot:  as the camera pans out after Delay takes the stage, there are people holding BUSH signs.....

Its a beautiful, cheap, and totally effective package.

What pissed YOU off this week? (my first ever blog!)

Sun Jun 25, 2006 at 12:59:24 PM PDT

What pissed me off this week?

Other than a computer virus that forced me to reformat my hard drive and lose several photos, music files, and other documents, only one thing really pissed me off this week and that is Republican House incumbent Bob Ney who represents Ohio's 18th district.

In case you have been too caught up in the campaigns in your home town, Bob Ney is likely the next member of Congress to be indicted. He will follow his friend Duke Cunningham and Tom DeLay and will resign in disgrace. Or maybe not. The Republican has said time and time again that he will not resign. No way. He gets paid too well. Has great health care. And gets to travel the world to help hard working people by playing golf in Scotland or gambling in London.

What has me pissed me off this week? This corrupt son of a bitch issued a press release attacking his Democratic opponent Zack Space. Most surprising is the fact the Ney's campaign decided hey let's start calling him a "millionaire" in the SAME press release that states:

Tom Delay was right..............!!

Fri Jun 09, 2006 at 06:14:19 AM PDT

Yesterday evening during Delay's Swan Song goodbye speak out on the floor of the House of Reps he stated that LIBERALS were the party of More ...More and More.
And that Conservatives were the party of less, less and less.

He stated what would be Delay's obvious lies....but he was so damn on the money that it was scarey.

LIBERALS want more government: Yes, they want a government that actually works and supports the infrastructure as well as treats all citizens equally. They, LIBERALS want to pool our resources to fund our future. We don't assist the rich to get richer...thats not our agenda. We do try and help the poor lift themselves up to middle class. A LIBERAL feels that a strong and vibrant middle class keeps this country a float.

LIBERALS want to be all inclusive....meaning they feel that a Gay Man or Woman have the same rights as a straight...no if ands or buts. Also a Woman has a right to her body and any choice she wants to make concerning her health and use of that body.

This is a "must see" video!

This video at Youtube should be used as our campaign commercial.
Very good collection of the deeds of the crooked Republicans.
Truly shocking what they have done to our country,
it will take us DECADES to undue all of the wrongs done by this administration!

Why All Democrats need your support

Mon Mar 27, 2006 at 02:10:47 PM PDT

If the Democrats are in power, they can release classified documents that can potentially earn support for a Bush impeachment.

I believed that the possibility of impeachment would not be smart politically.

Until this...

UPDATE: Proof that Joe Barton is bought and paid for by Exxon Mobil Profits

Wed Feb 01, 2006 at 07:36:16 PM PDT

This is an update to my posting on 30 January 2006.

I just had the opportunity to pop over to the FEC website to check to see what my lovely opponent has been raising and spending so far for his "re-election" campaign in which he thinks "it's pretty unlikely the voters would switch now, and I don't think the opposition thinks it's likely they would do that."

Anyway, I just thought I would highlight one particular honorable mention - EXXON MOBIL- especially given their record setting profit margin that was just released (see below). $5000 of the total for Chair of the Energy and Corruption, I mean, Commerce Committee's money came from no other than his big profit, oil and gas buddies - big suprise! So back to my original assumption below....my only question now is - did they have a window or aisle seat?

"The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works."

This line comes from the 1987 movie Wall Street, but it seems our oil execs have watched it one too many times this past year....

While hard working Americans continue to pay out their ass in order to get to their jobs every day, it seems these crooks have set themselves up nicely this year.

Why I Did Not Ever Vote for G W Bush

Sun Jan 29, 2006 at 09:32:28 AM PDT

I was sitting here drinking my coffee and going over the headlines of the day when I got to thinking, just how did we as a country get into this position? No not the history of the country, but the history of the G.W.B. years. I started watching the G.W.Bush train [wreck] in 1999, when we found out that Albert Gore, and George Walker Bush would be running for the office of the most powerful country in the world. I kind of knew some about Gore, seeing as he was the Vice President. Now in the eighties I was not a fan of Al Gore's wife Tipper. If you are old enough to remember she was a member of a group of senators wives called "Parents Music Resource"  that wanted to label albums for content. And being a musician and poet, I am against censorship of any kind. I worked locally for the Clinton/Gore reelection campaign.
But Bush was another thing all together. I knew very little about this guy. Read on>>>
