Democratic Response to State of Union- What would you like to see mentioned?

Who would you like to see deliver it?? I personally would like to see it be a rebuttal of the last 25 years of conservative ideas that have brought us to the point we are at now.
I would either like to see someone who the right wing media hasn't really villified deliver it. Specifically Jay Rockefeller. Or, someone they have mischaracterized but whom the public in general has not really had the time to actually listen to, like Howard Dean.
Some of the things that I think should be mentioned:
First that the Sago Mine disaster, the Vioxx and FDA issues, Katrina, and Abramoff scandal shows what happens when we vote that we want "big government" out of our lives, but what actually happens is that we get government out of regulating business. The public health and safety is compromised.
Also some statistics concerning educational level, life expectancy, infant mortality, working hours, family and sick leave of the US compared with other industrialized nations might be appropriate.
A discussion of the erosion of the minimum wage versus the income of the top 20% might be good also.
Then we need to show how the government actually INTO people's lives. Giving their homes over to business by emminent domain. Spying on peace groups and reading the emails of citizens, failing to protect whistleblowers, how the Supreme court has failed to protect our 4th amendment rights.
The issue of cutting taxes when our regulatory agencies that protect the public health and safety do not have enough resources should be mentioned.
Ok there's some of my ideas for the Dems. How would you phrase those, expand on them, or include other stuff??
